A marine survey is an independent inspection of a vessel and its equipment, based on a careful visual inspection of the accessible areas of the vessel and its structures as well as available equipment, to give you reassurance that the vessel is in order, or, if not what is wrong.
The survey typically has three stages:
The findings, conclusions, and recommendations are then presented in a written report so that you, your insurance company, and/or financier can make an informed decision regarding the vessel.
The surveyor is working for you and only you. He will not divulge the contents of the report to anyone. If you insurance company or bank needs a copy it is up to you to provide it.
FMC will at your written request e-mail reports to anyone you wish. The format will be an electronically signed PDF report that can not be modified.
