Ever found a boat that you think is the perfect boat and you live a long way away. The pictures look just great on the web.. You look at the price and think... this boat is priced just too low to be true. You think I sure don't want to loose it if it is a really good boat. You think how much is this boat really worth with the options it has. Then you think I have been burned before. You have traveled all over the country looking at boats only to get there and find out that the boat described by the seller as a "Head Turner" really meant everyone turns their head when it goes by and comments "yep its still floating today". You have paid for plane tickets, rooms and seen nothing but a big disappointment when you arrived at the docks. We at FMC think we have a solution.
The pre-offer survey works like this. For a fee of $150 dollars we travel to the boat, document the obvious problems and conditions of the vessel. Take OUR pictures (you know the seller never takes pictures of the problem areas), when we return to the office we research the value of the vessel, e-mail you the photos and have a phone conversation with you. Now you know if the vessel warrants you placing an offer with the seller.
Should you decide to place an offer for the vessel and want an actual survey done we will apply $75 dollars of the $150 fee to the actual survey.
A Pre-Offer survey is not a full survey of the vessel, but it will generally answer the questions you need answered before you invest in a trip. A full survey of the vessel requires a detailed inspection of all systems on the vessel and usually a haul out and sea trial. There is not a Report of Survey written on the vessel. The intent of this type of survey is to assist you in determining the following:
If these are the questions you need answered the a Pre-Offer survey is exactly where you should start.
Thank you for considering FMC for you inspection needs. if you have any questions please call using the above phone number or email us at info@yachtsurv.com
